The fourth generation of the "charged" BMW M5 sedan with the "E60" index was shown to the world in 2005, and two years later he was accompanied by the Touring station wagon, which received the "E61" designation.

Mass production of the Bavarian car continued until July 2010, and a total of 19,564 "fourth empyats" rolled off the assembly line, of which 1,025 were in the cargo-passenger model.

The "fourth" BMW M5 is a premium mid-size car, which was sold in sedan and five-door station wagon bodies.

Depending on the modification, the length and width of the "Bavarian" are 4855 mm and 1846 mm, respectively, and the height varies from 1469 to 1512 mm.

As for the rest of the characteristics, the wheelbase of the car is 2886 mm, and the ground clearance is 120 mm.

The three-volume model in the equipped state weighs 1855 kg, and the cargo-passenger model weighs 1955 kg.

Specifications. Under the hood of the M-version of the 5-series was a high-performance 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine (developed specifically for this car), generating 507 horsepower at 7750 rpm and 520 Nm of peak torque at 6100 rpm.
All traction was supplied to the wheels of the rear axle, which was integrated with a limited-slip differential, through a seven-band SMG II robotic transmission.

"Bailout" from standstill to 100 km / h took 4.7 seconds for the sedan, and 0.1 seconds longer for the station wagon, although the top speed in both cases was limited to 250 km / h.

The chassis of the fourth generation BMW M5 was represented by an aluminum suspension with a double wishbone at the rear and a multi-link at the front. "In a circle" the car was equipped with EDC shock absorbers with solenoid valves. On the "emka" used rack and pinion steering with adaptive power steering Servotronic, as well as ventilated disc brakes with ABS and other electronic assistants on all wheels.

"M5" in the E60 / E61 body is a powerful appearance, luxurious interior, driver's character, excellent dynamics, high prestige and practicality of a family car.
At the same time, the "Bavarian" is distinguished by a large fuel "appetite", small ground clearance and expensive maintenance.
