Audi RS5 is a family of four-wheel drive high-performance premium D-class cars (according to the European classification), declared in two body “forms”: a two-door coupe or a five-door liftback (“Coupe” and “Sportback”, respectively) ... They combine stunning design, luxurious interior decoration and outstanding technical "stuffing" ...

The second "release" of the coupe was officially demonstrated to a wide audience on the stage of the Geneva Motor Show in the first decade of March 2017 - it was visually transformed in a single key with less powerful "brothers" in the family, but at the same time it received a new engine (also known from the Porsche Panamera 4S ) ...

Well, exactly a year later, at the motor show in New York, the debut of the five-door model with the RS prefix took place, which combined the style of a standard liftback and the "insides" of a two-door "Ereski".

To confuse the "second" Audi RS5 Coupe / Sportback with other "fives" will not work even with the maximum desire: widened wheel arches, spectacular "rollers" measuring 19 inches, an aggressively designed front bumper with air intakes and oval exhaust pipes will not allow it.

The length of "Er-Esca" of the second generation in the coupe body is extended by 4723 mm, and in width and height it is 1861 mm (including side mirrors - 2029 mm) 1360 mm, respectively. In turn, the liftback is 4783 mm long, 1858 mm wide and 1375 mm high. Between the pairs of wheels, the two-door has a 2766 mm base, and the five-door has a 2824 mm base.

In the "combat" state, the "charged five" weighs from 1730 to 1840 kg (depending on the version).

And inside, it will not be difficult to recognize the Audi RS5 Coupe / Sportback against the background of standard models: the “extreme” variants instantly give out a “steering wheel” with a suede finish truncated at the bottom and sports seats with integrated headrests, which are optionally also stitched with red threads.

There are no other differences in the "lighters": avant-garde design, the highest quality workmanship, exclusively premium finishing materials, a four- or five-seater interior layout.

Well, the luggage compartment with a volume of 465 or 480 liters (for the coupe and liftback, respectively).

The Audi RS5 of the second incarnation is armed with a 2.9-liter gasoline engine with six V-shaped "pots", a pair of different-sized turbochargers (exhaust channels located in the collapse), direct injection and a 24-valve arrangement. It generates 450 horsepower at 5500-6750 rpm and 600 Nm of torque, available from 1900 to 5000 rpm.

The power unit works with an 8-band "automatic" ZF and all-wheel drive quattro with an asymmetric center differential that distributes traction in a "rear-wheel drive" ratio of "40:60" and an active cross-wheel differential in the rear axle (if necessary, up to 85% of the power can be thrown forward, and up to 80% - back).

The two-door "Er-Eska" exchanges the first "hundred" after 3.7 seconds, and the five-door model will spend 0.2 seconds more on this exercise. The peak capabilities of the "charged" models do not exceed 250 km / h due to the electronic "collar" (although for a surcharge it can be moved by 30 km / h - up to 280 km / h).

Their fuel consumption in the "mixed mode" of movement is 8.7 liters per 100 km of run.

Structurally, the second "release" of the Audi RS5 is identical to the "civilian five" of the second generation: it is built on the MLB evo platform with abundant use of high-strength steel and aluminum in the "skeleton" of the body, a longitudinally based engine, independent suspensions with a "double-lever" in front and a "five-link" in the rear as well as adaptive electromechanical steering.

By default, the car "flaunts" ventilated brake discs "in a circle" with six-piston monobloc calipers on the front axle and single-piston floating calipers in the rear.

At the same time, the steering, shock absorbers and springs of the German "lighter" have sports settings, and as an option, it is offered adaptive Dynamic Ride Control shock absorbers with several operating algorithms.

In 2018, the second generation Audi RS5 coupe is delivered to the Russian market exclusively to order, and its price starts at 5,540,000 rubles. As for the liftback, it is still unknown whether it will reach our country or not (for example, in the USA and Canada, its sales will begin in the second half of 2018).

The two-door model, by default, is equipped with: six airbags, a three-zone climate control system, a combined leather and Alcantara interior trim, a multimedia system, full LED optics, 21-inch wheels, a sports suspension, Start / Stop technology, an electric boot lid, sports seats heated, premium audio system and the darkness of other modern equipment.

In addition, it offers an almost "endless" list of optional "bells and whistles": adaptive cruise control, rear view camera, automatic parking system, head-up display, Bang & Olufsen "music", active rear differential, electronically controlled shock absorbers, carbon-ceramic brakes and much other.
