Already this (2009) summer, a novelty will appear on Russian roads, causing a slight deja vu - this is the new Seat Exeo, an executive class-D sedan. And in fact, the Exeo is an updated previous generation of the Audi A4.
Say what you like, but the exterior lines of the Seat Exeo seem very familiar. Although the Exeo is actually a completely new car, it is only for the Spanish company Seat, in the model line of which there has not yet been a representative of the “D” class. For everyone else, this "novelty" will be just a copy of the previous model Audi A4.
By the way, it's no secret that Seat is not the most popular division of the VolksWagen concern. But the business plan they adopted a couple of years ago allows them not only to stay afloat, but also to receive, at the end of last year, a profit of ~ 44 million euros. And the secret of Seat's success is that they do not try to create something “incredible”, but rely on the help and experience of their colleagues in the concern. Besides, why “throw away” something that can still be sold for at least five years.
A distinctive feature of Seat cars is their "unification" - exposure to the same style, the presence of common design elements (such as the classic radiator grille and slanting headlights of the head optics).
Otherwise, both the interior and exterior of the Seat Exo are fully consistent with the previous Audi A4. For the production of a new-old car in the Spanish city of Martorell from Ingolstadt, the Germans moved the entire production line. They did not even change the suppliers of components.
Inside the Seat Exeo, the inappropriate / unusual Seat emblem immediately catches the eye. Otherwise, everything is familiar - from the steering column switches to the radio buttons.
The front can comfortably accommodate two tall people, but the rear passengers will be cramped: there is clearly not enough space in the legs.
But the Seat Exeo trunk has good capacity.
Taking a look at Exeo inside and outside, it is difficult to understand where those 30 ~ 40% of the "donor" upgrades that the Spanish engineers promised. A slightly modified exterior will pull a maximum of 20 percent. In the cabin, everything is generally identical to Audi.
