Chevrolet Nexia is a front-wheel drive budget B-segment sedan by European standards, which is a slightly redesigned second-generation Chevrolet Aveo (with an internal factory index R250), which was "born" already in 2005 ... It has a diverse target audience that wants to get a reliable, unpretentious and an inexpensive car to maintain, well adapted to the Russian realities of operation ...

For the first time, this three-volume was presented back in the fall of 2015, and in Uzbekistan it was initially offered as a Chevrolet Nexia, while the four-door was supplied to Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine under the name Ravon Nexia R3.

Well, in the summer of 2020, the car began to be sold on the Russian market under the Chevrolet brand.

In general, the Chevrolet Nexia has a rather nice and proportional, but at the same time already outdated and really boring look - an unpretentious front end with slanting "eyes", a sheer grille shield and a neat bumper, a classic silhouette with laconic sidewalls and embossed wheel arches, an unremarkable feed with large lanterns and "plump" bumper.

Size and weight

"Nexia" is a representative of the B-class by European standards: in length, width and height, it has 4330 mm, 1690 mm and 1505 mm, respectively. The center distance of the four-door is 2480 mm, and its ground clearance is 160 mm.

The curb weight of the car ranges from 1190 to 1230 kg, depending on the version.

Interior

The interior design of the Chevrolet Nexia is pretty in appearance and ergonomic in practice, but it is made exclusively from budget finishing materials, and the build quality is clearly not up to par.

A simple four-spoke steering wheel with a "flat" rim, an ingenious instrument cluster with several analog scales and a small "window" of the onboard computer, a laconic front panel on which round ventilation deflectors are located, a two-din radio tape recorder and several air-conditioning twists, - the look does not really catch on in the car for what.

In the front seats in the three-volume, well-profiled seats with a well-developed side profile, rather soft filling and wide adjustment intervals are installed. On the second row there is an unremarkable three-seater sofa and a frankly small amount of free space, especially for tall passengers.

The asset of the subcompact sedan is a 400-liter trunk with a sloped opening, devoid of any additional amenities (with the exception of the backlight).

The rear row of seats folds down in two parts, but in this case forms a noticeable step. In a niche under the raised floor there is a full-size spare wheel and a set of a motorist.

Specifications

Under the hood of the Chevrolet Nexia is an atmospheric gasoline unit with a working volume of 1.5 liters with four in-line cylinders, a cast iron block, an aluminum head, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt with a chain drive, distributed fuel injection and variable valve timing, generating 105 horsepower at 5800 rpm minute and 141 Nm of torque at 3800 rpm.

Normally, the car is supplied with a 5-speed "mechanics" and driving wheels of the front axle, but as an option, a 6-band hydromechanical "automatic" is offered for it.

Dynamics, speed and consumption

The first "hundred" obeys the four-door in 12.2-12.3 seconds, its maximum capabilities do not exceed 178-179 km / h, and the fuel "appetite" in the combined cycle varies from 6.5 to 7 liters for each "hundred" of run.

Design features

At the heart of the Chevrolet Nexia is a front-wheel drive bogie with a transverse engine and a steel body. At the front, the sedan is equipped with independent suspension with classic McPherson struts, and at the rear - with a semi-independent architecture with a torsion beam (but in both cases - with anti-roll bars).

The car has a rack and pinion steering with hydraulic booster. On the front wheels of the three-volume, ventilated disc brakes are enclosed, and on the rear - drum mechanisms (by default - with ABS).
On the Russian market, the Chevrolet Nexia can be purchased in three trim levels to choose from - LS, LT and LTZ.
